Book Review: Daughters of the Coven

A supernatural mystery romance novel by Eileen Troemel and Jan Selbourne

My personal review of the story:

I thoroughly enjoyed reading Daughters of the Coven, a fiction novel by Eileen Troemel and Jan Selbourne that blends the supernatural with mystery and romance. It has that flavour of the Mayfair Witches series by Anne Rice – if you’re in the mood for coven stories and enjoy the thrills of a good supernatural fiction novel. The story follows the connection between Keira and Laura, who are continents apart, and their link to a place called Bainath in Ireland.

The relationship between Keira and Laura developed via long distance before they met face-to-face, and while I felt some parts were a bit slow, the writing was strong. Keira is kind, someone you would want around you for protection and support, as is Laura. Laura has a strong voice as a co-lead, and I connected well with her. Toward the end, when the enemy confronted the coven, I felt the POVs could’ve stuck to just the two, and the story would’ve still carried through strongly, as both characters are powerful enough to finish the story from their POVs. Still, everything tied in, and I didn’t find any plot holes or lack of character or relationship development. Both heroines fulfilled their journeys, and the conclusion didn’t leave any loose ends.

If you like the Mayfair Witches and the Talamasca stories by Anne Rice, you’ll enjoy this novel. Overall, it’s five stars from me.

I was lucky to receive a copy to leave my honest review of the story.
